PRESS OPERATOR:
SUMMARY Operates punch press to perform piercing, blanking and forming of sheet metal parts. Also performs the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
1. Places strips or individual parts in press trips press via foot treadue or palm buttons. 
2. Advances strip or removes part from next operation. 
3. Must be able to recognize visual irregularities. 
4. Maybe required to use gages or measuring instruments and record data for quality documentation.  
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a candidate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The candidate must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.  

 

     
Die Set-up:
 Responsible for proper die set-up by performing the following duties and responsibilities. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
1. Retrieves tooling from storage. 
2. Responsible for placing the dies in proper die sets per routing sheet. 
3. Ensures correct alignment between punch and die. 
4. Disassembles tooling for completed jobs and correctly returns tooling to storage.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Note: Regularly - more than 2/3 of the time, Frequently - 1/3 to 2/3 of the time, Occasionally - less than 1/3 of the time
